This update was a long time coming. Baby G made a surprise, two week early entry into this world at the end of April, and I became an aunt for the first time! Since I live an hour and a half away, getting the blanket to mom was a bit of a challenge, especially with my ever changing schedule, and the unpredictability of being a new mom. It did give me a chance to make sure the blanket was complete and perfect before sending it off.
I am unbelievably happy with how this blanket turned out. It was my first Caron Cakes project as well, and it was just so lovely watching the blanket come together. It definitely had it challenges, especially building the flowers. I’m not crocheting as regularly as I used to, so even simple stitches can be a little daunting, but it came together well!
Admittedly, I don’t think I ever actually figured out how to do the leaves properly, some of them look weird, and I’m not entirely sure the main center flower is correct. What matters most though, so that mom loved the blanket, and Baby G looks absolutely divine all swaddled up in the blanket.
